There is so much we can learn from one another.
Our bodies take us on quite a journey over the course of a lifetime. Just when we think we’ve figured things out, something changes and we find ourselves in a whole new season, with new questions, new challenges, and often new gifts as well.
There is something wonderful that happens when women have the chance to gather and share what they’ve learned along the way. Stories are exchanged. Someone shares what helped her. We talk about the plants, the remedies we love, the things we wish we’d known sooner, and sometimes the things we’re still figuring out.
She Who Remembers grew from that spirit of sharing.
There is no one right way to move through these seasons of our life. But there is so much we can learn when we listen to our bodies, learn from one another, and keep the plants close beside us.
A conversation between generations
At the heart of She Who Remembers is a conversation between herbalists Rosemary Gladstar and Jess Bergeron, two women from different generations and different places along the journey.

Meet Your Teachers
Rosemary Gladstar shares her decades of experience as an herbalist, teacher, and elder, offering stories, insights, and guidance shaped by a lifetime of working with the plants and supporting women’s health.
Widely regarded as a pioneer of the modern herbal movement, Rosemary has spent over 50 years teaching, writing, and helping to bring herbal wisdom back into everyday life. Her work has touched generations of students and practitioners, and her approach remains rooted in simplicity, accessibility, and a deep respect for the plants as allies and teachers. Her book Herbal Healing for Women has been a trusted companion for thousands of women for over 30 years.
Jess Bergeron brings the perspective of a younger woman who is actively living these teachings. As an ethnobotanist, herbal mentor, and mother, she works closely with the plants in her daily life while caring for her family and community. With a background in Ethnobotany from the University of Hawai‘i, her work has focused on the relationship between people and plants, as well as traditional healing practices from diverse lineages.
As the founder of JKB Kitchen and the Kitchen Medicine Mentorship, Jess has guided thousands of women and mothers in bringing herbalism into their homes, helping them move from simply following recipes to becoming confident and intuitive in their care. Her approach is grounded, practical, and rooted in the belief that herbal knowledge belongs in everyday life, where it can be lived, shared, and passed on.
