The Science & Art of Herbalism is a wonderful herbal education program for anyone interested in beginning herbalism, as I was when I started. The online format was perfect for my lifestyle and location – in the Midwest. I enjoyed the organization of the lessons and the integrity of the information. I felt encouraged and well-supported, even from a distance.
In addition to learning from Rosemary and her lifetime of herbal knowledge, I also learned from each of the herbalists that reviewed the lessons, and I appreciated their thoughtful comments. Helen was also able to facilitate a great local learning opportunity, by linking me and two of the other area students with an area teacher/herbalist. We enjoyed a winter of live monthly classes, in addition to the program, which was excellent.
There was such a nice blend of reading, research, practice, and synthesis of the information. There was also many, many additional lessons from guest herbalists available on the online version of the course. One of my favorite parts of the course was the numerous videos of Rosemary teaching from her home kitchen, garden, and living space. It was almost as good as being there. I also loved the generous sharing of recipes and formulas, along with gaining the knowledge to create my own!
I feel like I have developed a strong foundation for a lifetime of ongoing learning about the plants and Western Herbalism.
