The Science & Art of Herbalism is a wonderful herbal education program for anyone interested in beginning herbalism, as I was when I started. The online format was perfect for my lifestyle and location – in the Midwest. I enjoyed the organization of the lessons and the integrity of the information. I felt encouraged and well-supported, even from a distance. In addition to learning from Rosemary and her lifetime of herbal knowledge, I also learned from each of the herbalists that reviewed the lessons, and I appreciated their thoughtful comments. Helen was also able to facilitate a great local learning opportunity, by linking me and two of the other area students with an area teacher/herbalist. We enjoyed a winter of live monthly classes, in addition to the program, which was excellent. There was such a nice blend of reading, research, practice, and synthesis of the information. Taking the course was one of the best decisions of my life. Since the birth of my kids, I have been studying herbs for my family. This course allowed me to build a good foundation, filling the gaps of my previous self-directed studies. Learning is like sowing new seeds and tending to them to see them flourish. I came into this program with quite a bit of herbal experience already and the expectation I was just using it to get a certificate to hang on the wall of my office. However, Rosemary’s program exceeded all expectations. It taught me not only did I know so much already, but there is so much out there to know. I learned quite a bit more than I thought I would. This program is not only for beginners, but those of us practicing herbalists that want to learn more and grow personally and professionally. I would love to do a program like this in-person with Rosemary Gladstar herself. But if I can’t, this is the next best thing. This has been such a rich and joyful experience for me. I have learned so much from Rosemary as well as all my herbal teachers who have guided me through this course. Rosemary’s kindness and non-judgmental way of sharing her wisdom and knowledge is such a blessing to be able to learn from. I have also had the chance to join a course at Sage Mountain and this was also a truly heart-opening time for me.
